There were 266 building permits issued in Ogden last year, and bo far this year the records of the building build-ing inspector's offiee give promise of an equal number of new structures. Thomas H. Davis, the inspector, saya 200 of the 265 buildings, are hojneo. That means an addition of 1 400 homcB to the residential district of Ogden in two years If each resi-i resi-i dence occupied n 50-foot lot, the new places would cover 30 of the Inrge Ogden blocks and would extend on both sides of Washington avenue from the Eccles skyscraper south to the efts limits, a distance of approxl mately two miles. This does not take account of the big business structures, Including hotels, ho-tels, rooming and apartment houses. From 1910 to 1913, Ogden increased In population from 25,580 to over 30,- I according to the school census. and the building record simp then Indicates that a good ratio of Increase is be'ng maintained. By the next icnsus year, Ogden should have 60,-000 60,-000 people |
