Cincinnati that Hoblitzell had been j sold to the Boston Americans Earlier today, Mr Farrell had an j nounced that he had purchased Hob-1 Hob-1 tltsell and that the player would re-i re-i port tomorrow. Mr. Farrell claims a prior right to the player and declared he would immediately appeal to Pres ident Ban Johnson of the American league, a member of the national commission com-mission Farrell claims Herrmann telegraphed telegraph-ed him vesterday asking if he could use Hoblitzell, mentioning his terms ! as $3 000 cash or $5,000 on a thirty ! days trial with the privilege of returning re-turning the player. Farrell accept ed the latter offer, he says, and thought he had secured Hoblitzell until un-til informed that the first baseman had been sold to Boston.. |
