Show MAD DOG IMPERILS SCHOOL CHILDREN Bingham. Sept 24. With bared fangs and mouth dripping foam, a rabid rab-id bulldog dashed through the center of Bingham at noon today spreading terror among pedestrians He passed the schoolhoiiso just an the children were dismissed for noon recoss and horrified adults watched him dash through the lines snapping as he went. No one was bitten, but a horse standing in front of the schoolhonse broke loose from the hitching post when the dog's teeth closed on one of his legs Down the canyon dashed both horse and dog. Policeman Andrew Mayer was coming com-ing up tho canyon and shot the dog firing seven bullets into the animal's body with an automatic pistol before the rabid henst ceased struggling The horse went on down the canyon, and up to a late hour tonight had not been found. The dog was the property of Guy Baum, mail carrier. Baum was In the act of giving the dog medicine when the animal became rabid and broke away. |
