Show Ifll, C. T, U. OF UTAH MENTION IS A I BIO SUCCESS The twenty-fourth convention of the Utah W, C T. U. closed last evening with a fine medal contest of great Interest in which the following young ladies of Salt Lake took part; Mrs. Maud Mclntire Miss Grace Epperson, Ep-person, Miss Addie t.ardlner. Miss Francis Mumford, Mrs. Margaret Ma 1 hon, Miss Lillian Sargent, Miss Grace Epperson won the medal for her ren- dition of "On the Way to the Poor i Mouse " The judges wre Mrs Ir Coulter, Mrs U. A. Wight, and Prof W E. Archibold. The Hutchinson orchestra added much to the entertainment by several sev-eral beautiful selections. Mrs Marcus Jones of Salt Lake read a parody on Hiawatha which proved a very witty summary of the convention, hugeh enjoyed by the large audience. Mrs. St. JohnB was again introduced intro-duced and thrilled the audience with her earnest words in behalf of the great work God has given to the worn en In this age. The largest and most enthusiastic convention of recent years closed with j prayer by the president. |
