Show POSTMASTERS EMOY HOSPITALITY OF THE CITY This afternoon the visiting postmasters post-masters of Utah are making a trip through Ogden canyon and they will be entertained at the Weber club after they return They are delighted delight-ed with Ogden and Its environment The eleventh annual meeting of the Postmaster' association of the state is being held in the federal building, covering two days These conventions were instituted a number of years ago Different topics are discussed In the conventions. The program for the Ogden meetings is an excellent ene covering many Important subjects sub-jects In relation to postofflce work. While the attendance at the first session was large, It is aid that many of the postmasters will not arrive in the city until this evening The program tor this arternoon was rather brief, as it ha-d been planned to take the visitors out for a ride, but the session was nevertheless Interesting In-teresting and furnished a fitting prelude pre-lude to the meetings that will follow. The proceedings were opened today by an Invocation by Rev. H. D. Zim merman of the First Baptist church of this city, followed by an address of welcome in behalf of Mayor A. G-Fell G-Fell by City Attorney Valentine Gideon. Mayor Fell eould not be in attendance as he was entertaining Governor William Spry and staff. Mr. Gideon welcomed the visitors to the city and assured them that the mayor was glad to turn o or to them the keys of the city A happy response was made by Postmaster James Clove I of Frovo, who took the place of Postmaster Post-master Noble Warrum of Salt Lake, who was not able to attend on account ac-count of Illness. Mr. Clove referred to Ogden as an ideal meeting place for postmasters and said that he knew the hospitality of the people of the city to be unbounded An address ad-dress was given by a representative ot the postofflce department and Joseph Jo-seph Odell briefly spoke of posioll'ice regulations Among the early arrivals today were President L. 6. Lawrence, postmaster post-master at Spanish Fork; Secretary ( lifford I. Goff, postmaster at Mid vale; Postmaster James Clove of Provo, a member of the executive committee, accompanied by his wife and Assistant Postmaster Miss Sadie Graham, and Postmaster Jo3eph Anderson An-derson of Lehi. President Lawrence and Secretary Goff immediately began be-gan arrangements for the convention Due to the fact that most of the automobiles of the city have been engaged en-gaged for the Fashion Show festhi-tles. festhi-tles. the postmasters were taken to the canyon over the interurban Rapid Transit car line, the trip extending to the Idlewild and return.
