Show BARKER JELLS HOW : HE ESCAPED FROM THE OFFICERS Sheriff T. A. DeVlne returned from : Mason City, la., last evening with J. T Barker, who is charged with (grand larceny and also jail-breaklng. I The man escaped jail July 6, 1914, and made his way east, where he i was Incared by officers of Mason City, j At the time he broke jail he was be-'lng be-'lng held for the alleged theft of three horses, two from Eden and one from Roy. It will be remembered that the young man dug his way through the wall between the bath room of the county jail and the engine room and it was supposed that he spent a number num-ber of days In the mountains near Ogden, before going east, and a search in the mountains was made for him Young Barker stated this morning, however, that he boarded a freight train within two hours after he got away from the jail. He will be prosecuted for breaking Jail as well as for the theft of the horses Sheriff DeYine reports he visited his parents in Ann Arbor. Mich, while away. Rarker waived his preliminary hearing hear-ing in the municipal court this morning morn-ing and was bound over to the district dis-trict court. |
