Show OFFEIHS BEFOUE Mill COURT Nine offenders were called before the municipal court judge this morn-i morn-i ing for trial. William Stagge, t4 years old, was given a sentence' of j three days in jail. He pleaded guilty to a charge of drunkenness and was j given a jail sentence because the present pres-ent case was his second appearance before the judge in three days He was am-sted on a vagrancy charge for the first time and was given a suspended sentence. The trial of Thomas Murray on a petit larceny charge, brought out an example of shiftlessness that "His Honor" declared deplorable. The defendant de-fendant pleaded guilty to the theft of ;a pair of shoes from the Palace Fur Inishlngs store on Twenty fifth street I last Saturday and gave hunger as a j reason for the crime. He Is 42 years old and cross examination by the judge brought out the statement from him that he had spent $150 In less than a month lor liquor, tobacco and other valueless things The judge gave him a good lecture on thrift as a means of bolving the problem of the high cost of living and sentenced him to serve ten days in jail.
