Sept. 17, 4 20 a m An officer of-ficer of tho British cruiser High Flyer Fly-er has given the following account Of the sinking of the North German-Lloyd German-Lloyd trans-Atlantic liner Kaiser Wil-belm Wil-belm der Crosse off tho coast of Africa the latter part of August. "While we were coaling at Las Palmas. Canary Islands, wo heard that two colliers had left for Rio d Oro, West Africa. Wo followed and sighted the Kaiser Wllholm der Grosse within twenty miles of Rio do Oro, with colliers alongside. We opened fire at 3:10 o'clock and lln-ished lln-ished nt 4:25. The Kaiser Wilhelm 6ank at 5:10. Our lyddite shells soon settled things. Our ship was struck ten times." |
