Show MUCH INTEREST TAKEN III REPUBLICAN PRIMARIES On the day of the primaries for the Republican convention, all candidates for nomination who have rivals are certain of the election of delegates w ho will be favorable to them, which means, of course, that there will be a number of disappointments. The real sharp contest will be for the nomination for sheriff, there be ing four candidates In the field and they all have ben attending to their political fences the past few weeks. Angus E Berlin today announced himself a candidate for recorder. It is said that the nomination for . two-year commissioner will not be made on the first ballot by any meanB, as there are four or five avowed can dldates in the field and that there' may be a number of "dark' horses' trotted out at the opportune time Allj the candidates have their following and it is expected that on the first; ballot the votes will be pretty well divided. So much interest is being taken In il primaries tonight that, arrangements arrange-ments have been mado by the central committee to have the names ot dele gates telephoned to the city at the close of the primaries at all the districts dis-tricts of the county and city. |
