Show oo GERMAN DEATH LIST PUBLISHED - Berlin, Sppt. 17, via Iyondon, 2:17 p. m An official casualty list published publish-ed today shows .,563 names. Mention is made of the hard fighting fight-ing on the part of German regiments regi-ments in East Prussia Three companies com-panies of the 59th infantry stationed at Soldau lost 356 men. The 47th infantry with headquarters at Posen suffered 268 casualties. A majority of both regiments are Polish, A battalion of the 136th infantry stationed at Strassburg lost 316 men, one company alone losing seven officers of-ficers and 114 men. A battalion of the 142nd infantry of Baden Baden reported the loss of ten officers and 249 men Two battalions of the 143rd Infantry, stationed at ;1 Strassburg lost 13 officers and 49S ' men. Despite these losses the organizations organiza-tions fought on heroically, the official announcement says Average Daily Losses. The total of the published German casualties to date are 35,786 killed, wounded or mla6ing. Since last week the average daily losses are shown by the casualty lists to be 3,200. Among the killed on September 14 was Prince Otto Victor of Schoenburg Walden burg a first lieutenant of the HuBsar guards and a brother of the Princess of Wied. Experiments made in the manu facture of a new bread composed of rye, flour, potatoes and starch are declared to have had most satisfactory results. |
