President Wilson toda received formal notlfi cation that the striking Colorado ml ners had confirmed the action of the officers of the United Mine Workers in accepting a tentative basis for tho Settlement r'l the s'nk' Tin- opera tors are expected to reach a decision Saturday. The president received the following follow-ing telegram from the Colorado miners: mi-ners: "The Colorado mine workers, in convention assembled, have carefully considered your proposal for a settlement set-tlement of the coal strike and after calm and deliberate thought, we have this day decided to accept the proposition propo-sition you submit. The delegates to this convention convey to you their abiding faith in your integrity and your earnest and patriotic desire to be helpful In the present strike situation. sit-uation. On notice of the acceptance of your proposition by the coal operators opera-tors we will immediately terminate the strike and return to work " |
