Show "NOT GUILTY" IS VERDICT. Fillmore, Jan. 16 After dellberat ing one hour and thirty minutes, the jury in the case of the state against George Richardson and Edward Chris-topherson, Chris-topherson, who were charged with the murder of Samuel Geaslin on April L'2. 191., returned a verdict of not guilty. The killing of Geaslin caused considerable con-siderable excitement in this vicinity and the case has been watched with interest during the last ten days. The contention of Christopherson and his father in-law, George Richardson, was that Geaslin had broken up the Chris t-jpherson home by eloping with Mrs. Christopherson. and that Geaslin was killed in self defense. It was show n that when Christopherson and Richardson Rich-ardson overtook the pair Geaslin attacked at-tacked them with a gun and it was necessary to shoot him to save their own lives. |
