Suspects Released The two sua pects held under investigation at the police station for complicity in the holdup of George Pllcher, were released re-leased yesterday. The men, though positively identified by Pllcher, denied de-nied all knowledge of the affair and as there was no other witness, the officers thought it would be useless to prosecute. More Smallpox Chloe Pross, 2073 Quincy avenue, and E. H. Anderson, 920 Capital avedue. were quarantined this morning for smallpox. William Gilmore, 2029 Madison, and Henry Hyland were released from quarantine today. Hyland was at the pesthouse. The Gilmore family had been under quarantine since December 22, with one of the worst cases of the disease :hat has ever been known in the city There are now 12 cases of smallpox and cases of scarlet fever, under quarantine. Fair Association At a meeting of the Intermountaln Fair association la bc inp held in the county court house to consider the sale of the fair grounds and attend to general business of the corporation. There was only one bid offered for the grounds, that of M. S. Drowning, for $16,000 for the property. The bid was rejected. Large Orange In a box of navel oranges received from Red lands, California, Cali-fornia, by W S. O'Brien, was one that weighed 29 ounces and bad a clrcum-frence clrcum-frence of 16 3-4 Inches. The fruit was sent to Mr. O'Brien by his brother, J. I D. O'Brien who has 11 acres of orange j trees near Redlands. |
