Show CASE OF ACCUSED PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO CHARGE judge W W maughan of logan on tha bench in district court morning from thursdays standard judge W W maughan of logan oo 00 coupled the bench in the second district court today and disposed of two caseb one civil and one criminal the first case called when court convened this morning was that ot the state vs alfred penrod on a charge of adultery the point was brought out that tha defendant had not been served with a copy of the information according to the statutes and the court ordered the case continued until the afternoon cession inor dr that the samo might be fulfilled when the case waa called at 2 after it was ascertained that the requirements bad been fulfilled penrod who waa represented by attorney N J harris pleaded not guilty to the charge which it la claimed was committed upon the person of one jennie burt march 24 1904 no date for the trial was named by maughan it Is stated that judge howell will ask judge armstrong to sit on the case when it comes for trial the only other matter disposed of was the case of reese howell sona TS the stein mercantile co which was bottled by stipulation court then adjourned adlour ned until 10 friday morning |
