Show PROSECUTIONS TO BE BEGUN IN SEVIER. Salt Lake, Aug. 9. State Sanitary Inspector Jordan is in Sevier county at the direction of Dr. T. B. Bcatty, secretary of the state board of hoalth, for the purpose of beginning the prosecution pros-ecution of several persons who have violated the law by falling to report cases of whooping cough. Dr.' Beatty said yesterday that many deaths have resulted from whooping cough during the past few months, and that the board of health intends taking drastic measures to stamp out a threatened state-wide epidemic. "Few people," said Dr Bcatty, "are aware of the serious nature of whooping whoop-ing cough, whereas, more deaths have been reported as a result of whooping cough than of scarlet fover and measles meas-les combined. |
