Show Society LUNCHEON. A beautifully appointed luncheon, one of the most thoroughly enjoyable ones of the season, was given yesterday yester-day at 1 p m. at the Hermitage by Mrs. A. R Hoywood In compliment to her house guest, Mis3 Mabel Case of San Francisco. Twenty young ladies with Mrs. Hey-wcod Hey-wcod and Mrs W L. Maginnis motored motor-ed up to tho Hermitage, where a most tempting four-course luncheon was served in tho cool big dining room, which was made especially attractive for the occasion The guests were seated at ono long table, which was a beautiful picture with its profusion of canyon bell-flowers and dainty trailing vines, Its nice arrangement of the season's best and Its circle of charming young ladles in daintiest of summer gowns Place cards with handplantod Japanese designs and pretty little hainpainted fans, also of artistic Japanese designs, as souvenirs souve-nirs of the occasion were a pretty feature. fea-ture. Following the luncheon hour a delightful de-lightful social time was enjoyed, songs and piano solos adding to the pleasure pleas-ure of tho day, after which the party motored back to town in the early evening. Miss Case Is a charming young lady and all regret that her stay in Ogden must be brief She Is visiting hero en route to Now York nnd will leave early next week. Maginnis. assisted Mrs. Heywood In receiving and entertaining entertain-ing her guests. Miss Adeline Meyer of Kahoka, Missouri, and Miss Jessie W. Davles of Keokiik, Iowa, are visiting Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Thompson at their home, 2248 Moffltt avenue. Mrs. J. M. Whltton and throe children, chil-dren, who have been visiting relatives rela-tives in New Haven, Kan., will return re-turn home this afternoon on No. 1 Overland. John L. Horrick, preBldent of the WeBtern States mission, with Mrs. Herrlck, MIbb Josephine Herrick and Mrs. Mary Hoffer of Denver, arrived In Ogden yesterday morning. John and Loster, PreBldent Herrlck's Bona, are also in Ogden. Mrs. Herrlck and tho childron will be tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. Josoph A. West for six weeks or moro and Mra.
