Show A PROGRESSIVE RAILROAD POLICY, i The Oregon Short Line, under the general supervision of A. L Mohler, who is president of that road and tho Union Pacific, is planning plan-ning improvements from Ogden north to the end of the line in Oregon. Ore-gon. There is even talk of the road being electrified from Ogden to Logan to meet the demands of the traveling public for that means of transportation. We look upon Mr Mohler as the greatest railroad man of the country. He knows every department of the business, and, furthermore, further-more, he knows public sentiment, as he is one of the most unassuming of men ami gets close to the people Ho is constantly on the alert to make his roads responsive to the needs of the communities through which they run. Mr. Mohler repeatedly has conferred with Ogden-1 ites, has listened to their grievances and has met local complaints' in a spirit of fairness. This desire to know the wants of each com-' munity and to do all possible to right wrongs and keep abreast of modern progress, is making for President Mohler' an enviable name that is redounding to the great good of his railroads. There is a better feeling now between the Union Pacific and Oregon Short Line and the patrons of those roads than at any time in the past, and much credit is due to the head of those railroads for the better understanding. The extensions now being made in Idaho and to be made elsewhere else-where along the Oregon Short Line are but one of many forward steps which are inspiring thc people with confidence. And Ogden is not being overlooked. This city is promised much, and we have faith in the fulfillment of those pr6mises, because we have faith in Mohler and his management. |
