Show THAW CASE IS CLOSED All Witnesses Heard in Lunacy Hearing Mrs. White Interested. Now York, July ll.The Thaw lunacy lun-acy hearing In White Plains closed today, as far as the admission of testimony tes-timony is concerned, with a sensation sensa-tion furniBhed by tho last two of the twenty-three witnesses called during the day by Clarence Shoarn to establish es-tablish the present and past rationality ration-ality of Harry K. Thaw. These witnesses were Mrs Mary Copley Thaw, aged mother of the prisoner, and Mrs George Lauder Carnegie, neo Margaret Thaw, Harry's Har-ry's sister. Both Mrs. Thaw and Mrs. Carnegie furnished the corroborative testimony that thero actually was, as charged by Thaw, a plan to send him, without trial, to the Matteawan state hospital for the Insane. The factors In this arrangement, it was shown were Louis Delafield and W. M. K. Olcott, representing Thaw. Delaney Nlcoll and Allen W. &ierat, representing the friends and relatives of Stanford White, and Jerome's office. Everat, under previous questioning by Shearn. stated that he represented Mrs. Stanford White and a few days after the homicide he told Lewis Cass Ledyard who consulted with the district dis-trict attorney's office, that Mrs. Whito would not insist upon the punishment pun-ishment of Thaw and that she was anxious to avoid a public trial and consequent scandal Mrs. Thaw in a low voice, testified that when the news of the killing of White by her son reached her she was In 7Ondon on her way to a cure in Switzerland. She told of her return re-turn to this country and of a talk with Delafield and Judge Olcott at the Hotel Lorraine in the middle of July, 1906. "Air.
