Show EXECUTION OFJOREANS Victims of Japanese Implicate Im-plicate Americans in the Plot, Seoul, Korea, July 19. During the public execution today of tho 123 converted con-verted Koreans, charged with plotting against tho government and the llfo of Count Terauchl, the Japanese governor-general, tho examining Judge, named about a dozen American and Canadian missionaries whom tho prisoners, pris-oners, during tho preliminary examination exami-nation had asserted were indirectly connected with the conspiracy because they were connected with the schools to which tho prisoners belonged or spoke to the prisoners concerning the independence of Korea. There Is not tho slightest reason to believe from the questions of the judge or from the attitude of the authorities that tho government has any Idea of formulating charges against the American Am-erican missionaries. The prisoners undoubtedly, at a previous hearing, Implicated the missionaries, but later publicly retracted the statements. |
