Show MUST FACE MURDER CHARGE Eureka, July 19. James Hickman, who fatally stabbed David Hutchinson during an altercation in front of the Crystal saloon shortly before last midnight, will face a charge of murder mur-der In the first degree. An inquest was held yesterday forenoon fore-noon under the direction of County Attorney Foote of Nephl and a coroner's cor-oner's jury returned a verdict stating that Hutchinson "came to his death from knifo wounds Inflicted by James Hickman with felonious intent." Hickman, who is a miner employed in the Tlntlc district, fled Immediately Immediate-ly after tho stabbing and was captured captur-ed by a posse headed by Sheriff G J Henroid, being taken at Goshen at 9-30 o'clock this morning When Hickman was placed in jail he firmly refused to discuss tho details de-tails of the killing or to make anv explanation of the cause of tho strife between himsolf and Hutchinson, but it was brought out at tho Inquest that bo'th men had been drinking heavily The sentiment bore runs higli against the slayer and an extra guard was placed around the jail to avoid the possibility of any attempt at violence The body of Hutchinson will bo taken to Spanish Fork today for burial bur-ial He leaves a widow and two chll- dron. , |
