Show DIAMOND THIEF Boise. Ida., July IS Completely baffled by the clevorest diamond robbery rob-bery in the annals of Boise, the police po-lice of this city are searching almost in vain for a clew that will lead them to even an identification of the lone robber. The are searching for the man who entered the Jewelry store of J. T. Laughlln, who operates the largest lar-gest jewelry establishment in this city locnted in tho heart of the city In t"ho Overland building, Saturday night, and while one of the clerks tvqb looking through a catalogue slipped a wallet containing 5,000 worth of unset diamonds dia-monds into his pocket, and shortly afterwards disappeared. Scores of private detectives, besides all of the plain clothes men of the police force, havo been hot on the rapidly vanishing trail of the thief. There were 25 diamonds In the wallet and several cameos. Tho diamonds were large and a choice selection The atoro and the diamonds are protected under the Jewelers' Protective association, which has placed Its most skilled detectives on the case. |
