Show MAN'S FOOT CRUSHED BY GARFIELD TRAIN Salt Lake, Jan. 22 Just as the Garfield train on tho Salt Lake route was pulling out Of the union depot at 11 o'clock last night, a man was seen to reel and fall across the tracks near First South street Before tho engineer en-gineer could stop his train the pilot of tlie engine struck tho prostrate man, crushing his foot Inflicting a deep cut on the head, and otherwlso injuring him. The man was taken to the railroad emergency hospital and later removed to the L. D. S hospital in the police po-lice patrol. He said his name is Joseph Jo-seph Brown and that he lived In tho western part of tho city, although he could not remember his address. He will recover, according to attonding physicians, though tho amputation of the injured foot may be necessary. |
