Salt Lake, June 22 That Salt Lake City may become the couvoutlou city of the intermouutaln west and a rival to Denver, Col , San Francisco, Cal., and other Pacific coast cities, for the entertainment of delegations, or at least that a serious effort toward that goal will bo made by tho city commissioners com-missioners is Indicated by the unofficial unoffi-cial action of that body yesterday upon up-on receipt from Harper J. Dlnlnny, city attorney, of a communication stating stat-ing that the 35,000 appropriation for the entertainment of the delegates to the Trans-inlsslsslppl and National Irrigation congresses was logal and could be made for the purpose and under the conditions for which it wa-s recently requested by a committee consisting of members of the Commercial Commer-cial club and business men and bankers bank-ers of the cltv. . Immediately upon receipt of the information in-formation from tho legal department. Warren C.
