Show HILTON WINS GOLF GHAMPIONSHIP ATRYE RYE, N. Y Sept 12. Champions and former champions, including tho tltlc-holdor, W. C. FowneB, went to defeat de-feat today in 'the amateur golf championship cham-pionship at Apawamis. The 16 who survived included only one player, Jeromo D, Travers, who heretofore has borne the American title. Among the 16 survivors, however, are two likely foreigners, H. H. Hilton, British champion, and J. Douglas Brown, tho Irish title-holder of 1907. Among the prominent golfers who closed their national golfing careers for 1911 today were Fownes of Pittsburg, Pitts-burg, W J. Travis, E. M. Dyers ot Pittsburg, former Champion Robert A. Gardner and former Western Champion Cham-pion Mason Phelps of Chicago and T.
