Show FRIENDS OF HOCK ARE STILL ACTIVE Washington, Feb. 8. Despite reports re-ports that President Taft had determined deter-mined to appoint Secretary Nagel to the United States supreme court bench, friends of U.,S. Judge William C. Hook today contlnuod their efforts in his behalf. Representative Anthony of Kansas took to the White House an analysis of Judgo Hook's opinion in the Oklahoma Okla-homa 'Mini crow" case. It was that decision which was said to have eliminated elim-inated Judge Hook from the President's Presi-dent's list of possible appointees Some Kansans expressed, the opinion opin-ion that Judgo Hook's opinions in the "Jim crow" case had been presented to tho President by those friendly to some other candidates. Mr. Anthony said his analysis would present to the President another view of tho case. |
