Feb. 7 The National Canners' association and Its allied Industries in convention here will raise ?100.000 In 1912 as a publicity pub-licity fund to Influence opinion in favor of its products. It was announced an-nounced today that pledges aggregating aggregat-ing $1S,000 had been made since January Jan-uary 1. For the first time In the history of the association the salmon packers of the Pacific coast are represented. Thomas Gorman of Seattlo spoke today to-day in endorsement of tho campaign. He said that there is more than national na-tional need for publicity; that tho growth of the industry, probably out of proportion to domestic consumption, consump-tion, opens tho possibility of a foreign for-eign field. He named Japan and the British colonics. |
