Show POOL ROOM" .JAP GIVEN .; A FINE " I' or the second lime in two weeks, T. Tavatari, tho Jap proprietor of a pool room at 3G1 Twenty-fourth street, was arraigned in pollco court this morning charged with allowing minors to loiter about his pool room, and, in consequence, received a fine of $75. Several witnesses were examined for the city who testified to having been in the pool rom and also to being be-ing under age. Tavatari, however, did not offer any defense except to deny the charges' in general, claiming to have been in the barber shop located locat-ed in the front end of his establishment establish-ment when the boys entered his place It wns evident that the Jap did not understand the ordinance, and apparently ap-parently does not now, but It Is also evident that he has made no effort to acquaint himself with the law or to comply with the regulations and it was on this ground that the court based his opinion when he Imposed the fine. |
