W Stackpole, aged 2S years, of Lo Angeles, gave himself up to the police po-lice shortly after midnight this morning, morn-ing, confessing that ho had embezzled embez-zled 3290 from a Los Angeles cigar store, by which he was employed "Big"" Ben Coulson, night watchman on Main street, betnqen First and Second South streets, was approached by a well dressed young man of prepossessing pre-possessing appearance. "T want you to do mo a favor," said the stranger. Tho night watchman asked him what the favor was. "I want you to arrest mo because. I am wanted in Los Angolos for ombez-zlement, ombez-zlement, and I've played this hiding gamo long enough." replied tho stranger stran-ger Coulson told tho young man that if ho insisted on the point he would arrest 'him, but entirely ns a favor.
