Utah's new capitol, as outlined by the specifics-tions,' specifics-tions,' of the program for the archi-teits' archi-teits' competition, will be a structure of which the state and nation will have reason to feel proud. Besides the Utah architects archi-tects and architectural firms entitled to enter the competitive tryouts, the Ust are open to seven architects or firms from outside the state. Applications Appli-cations must be filed before September Septem-ber 10. Those establishing their capabilities to the satisfaction of the commission will be- allowed to compete In the final plans. All designs for the building must be delivered to the secretary of state, who is the official secretary of tho commission, on or before December I. The commission will decide on the respective merits of the plans submitted sub-mitted within thirty days after they are received, and the right to call in expert advice in making the final selection is reserved by the commission. commis-sion. On the ground floor, as provided by the program, will be the offices of the fish and gamedepartment, state board of land commissioners, dairy and food department , state chemist, state board of health. Utah State Fair association, horticultural commission, com-mission, storeroom ond vaults. On the main floor will bo offices of the governor, secretary of state, attorney at-torney general, state au'litor, superintendent super-intendent of public Instruction, stato treasurer, bank commissioner and bank examiners, commissioner of Insurance. In-surance. The second floor will include the supreme court rooms, state library and reading room, state senate chamber, cham-ber, state house of representatives. On the third floor wil be the gal leries to the house and the senate, state engineer, state road commission, state coal mine inspector, commissioner commis-sioner of labor, immigration and statistics; sta-tistics; inspector of livestock, state board of sheep commissioners, state board of equalization, adjutant general, gen-eral, Utah Art Institute One of the special features of the building will be a cafe, located conveniently con-veniently for the benefit of employes of the state in particular. A special provision also is that the building must be of fireproof construction, and the cost of the building Is to include plumbing and gas pining, electric con-duits con-duits and vlring. heating and ventilating ventilat-ing apparatus, gas and electric lighting light-ing fixtures, architects' fees, etc , furniture fur-niture only being excepted.
