Show GENEROUS OFFER TO MY. I. CI SALT LAKE, April 12. Will citizens citi-zens of Salt Lake contribute $17,000 between now and May 2. to save the Y. M. C. A building? On November 21 the mortgage on the building -was foreclosed and It was sold at sheriff's sale. Under the law the association has six months in which to redeem 1L The six months will be up May 21 and unless $17,000 is raised the building will pass from the control of the association. Conditional promises for large sums have been made, but many of them are basod on the provision that the $17,000 will be raised and building redeemed re-deemed on on before May 21. In addition to the $17,000 absolutely absolute-ly necessary to save the building, and the city from disgrace, there Is an indebtedness in-debtedness of $52,000. A large part of this amount has been promised, if the mortgage is paid off. Leading cltlzena of the city are being appealed to and It is hoped that the building will be saved to the Institution which hns and Is still doing so much for tho youth of this city. This morning the announcement was made that Aaron Keyser had agreed .to contribute $5,000 to the general fund of the association providing the $17,000 was raised on or before May 21, and his son, George D. Keyser, has promised $8,000 on condition that art amount sufficient to clear off the entire indebtedness be raised Others have promised to contribute under similar conditions.
