Show BABY FOUND IN WRECKAGE Little One Blown Away But Discovered Later Lat-er Uninjured Horton, Kas.. April 13. The most thrilling escape of Wednesday's storm was that of a 2-yearld son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Hays, who resided in the Reserve district. Her baby was blown away with the house, as were other members of the family. After the house had been carried some distance dis-tance it was torn to pieces. As quickly as possible the members of the family began to count noses and found that they were all present but tho baby. Then a search was made of what ruins of the house remained re-mained The child could not be found and his mother gave him up f6r lost. Then a cry was heard and, lying under a heavy kitchen stovs, which still remained re-mained on its legs upon a small section sec-tion of flooring, tho child, was found uninjured. An 8-year-old son has a broken arm, but otherwise tho members of the family were uninjured. f Martin Schilling, a ""farmer in the Reserve district, was outside when the storm struck. Ho tried to reach shelter, but a flying board struck him and broke his leg While the extent of the loss cannot be estimated, it is bolieved that the damage in tho storm district in northeastern north-eastern Kansas is heavy |
