L Bixby, humorous writer on the Nebraska State Journal of Lincoln, Lin-coln, stopped off in Ogden yesterday morning on his way lunic, after a visit in the northwest. The doctor states that he was visiting visit-ing in Fairmont, Minn., and went from that c'ib, Into the northwestern states. One of the distinctions claimed by the Omaha writer is that he Is the only editor In America who has bad a hanker pay his expenses In a trip to Europe. Some years ago the doctor aimed hh wit at a wealthy banker of Omaha who was considered the closest clos-est man In money matters in the city. In a humorous manner he told of some of the ways In which the banker could spend his surplus wealth should he. decide to disburse It. One of the sag gestlons Blxby made was to give him a trip to Europe. That evening the writer was surprised sur-prised by a telephone call from the banker he had chlded with his pen The banker asked If he roalh thought hi deserved a trip to Europe at his expense.
