Show ASSOCIATE FORESTER DEPARTS Associate District Forester Franklin Frank-lin W Reed has been promoted to the position of associate forester of the United States, his duties to be performed in the "operation" department. depart-ment. Mr Reed will leave for Washing, Wash-ing, D. C, within the next few days. Ho will remove his family to the national na-tional capital. Air. Reod's promotion calls attention atten-tion to tho promotion of Clyde Leav-ltt, Leav-ltt, former district forester here, to a position in tho general service of the forestry department Mr. Reed was assistant district forosler under Mr. Leavltt, coming to Ogden at tho Inception of the forest service hpre. It speaks well for this district and Is considered by all tho emploves here as a Just nnd fitting recognition of the service given in district No. 4. District Forester E. A. Sherman suys that the office of associate district dis-trict forester will, upon the departure of Mr. Reed for Washington, bo abolished, abol-ished, this district being tho last to abandon this office.
