IS READYT0 QUIT The library and gymnasium commission com-mission which was created by the legislature two years ago for tho purpose pur-pose of aiding in the Installation or libraries and gymnasiums in tho public schools, met Wednesday afternoon In the looms of the Weber cliib and passed a resolution favoring the abolition aboli-tion of the commission. A statement will be drafted and presented to the state legislature at Its present session, asklug that the commission be abolished and that tho work which it was appointed to do be turned over to the state board of education. edu-cation. This action Is being taken by the members of the commission because they believe the sato board can better do tho work than they and that more will be done toward the establishing of libraries and gymnasiums gym-nasiums through the state body. The commission 's made up of tho following members: Professor George Thomas of tho Agricultural Ag-ricultural college of Logan; Prof J. H. Paul, of the University of Utah; E. G. Gowans, superintendent of the State Industrial school, and J M Mills, superintendent of the Ogden public schools. |
