Show BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL WOMEN MEET The Milford Business and Professional Profes-sional Women held their monthly meeting Monday night. The evening was spent with business ,' matters. President Annie J. Atkin presided. The meeting opened with the club song. Mrs. Lucille Raines read the prayer adopted by the state B. & P. W. club. Mrs. Horace Palmer read a legislative bill which is being treated treat-ed upon by the state legislature at present, concerning the possibility of having a girl's dormitory at the University Uni-versity of Utah. It was decided to have a public card party March 3. The next meeting will be March 14. Prayer adopted by the Business and Professional Women's club, Salt Lake City, Utah: Keep us, O Lord, from pettiness; et us be large in thought, in word, in deed. Let us be done with fault finding uul leave off self-seeking. May we put away all pretenses and meet each other face to face without self pity and without prejudice. May we never be hasty in judgement judge-ment and always generous. Let us take time for -all things; make us to grow calm, serene, gentle. T'u .... i,itn option nur better impulses traightf'orward and unafraid. Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create differences, that in the big things of life we are as one. And may we strive to touch and to know the "great, common woman's heart of us all, and O, Lord, God, let us forget not to be kind. Margaret Stewart. " Ten reasons why I should belong to the. business and professional Women's Wo-men's club: 1. because it is my link in a chain .of 761 such clubs, throughout' the land, united for the good of the whole. "T". . 2. Because to me it means altrusion in line, with the thought that "No nan liveth to himself alone." . 3. Because many friendships which , have grown dear to me have come to me through the cluh, and the endless chain of friendships thus formed may e extended throughout the years. 4. Because in my busy life: Of today to-day it means an expression of my interest in-terest in matters civic, educational, and legislative. 5. Because I believe in womanhood, not as a dependent elemenet, but as i force in the world's work and play. -. 6. Because it means a broadening of my horizon, a growth of new ideas; a community of interests with ny. fellow women. 1 . 7. Because it is a relaxation frqrn. the more strenuous side of life and gives a new facet to the hunian'ebar-acter hunian'ebar-acter with whom I am associated. 8. Because I want to know my fellow fel-low woman, whose problems may be akin to my own, whose efforts to- ward an honest upwright life I may" be able to further. . -' -: 9. Because it teaches me tolerance ,. of the rights of others and a:hnppy merging of self-interest in the inter- -est of the whole. ... 10.
