Show THE BEAVER MINES ARE NOW ACTIVE BEAVER MINES NOW ACTIVE There is probably more mining activity ac-tivity today in the Beaver Lake district, dis-trict, twelve miles northwest of Mil-ford, Mil-ford, than in any other part of Beaver Bea-ver county. This word was brought up from there yesterday by D. A. Mc-Lease, Mc-Lease, lessee of the Copper Mountain Moun-tain company, which is now shipping. ship-ping. It has one 50-ton car of ore en route to the smelters, and more will be on the way next week. Other active properties in the immediate vicinity are the Beaver Copper, Copper Cop-per Ranch, Milford Copper, San Pedro, Dippie and Utah United. There are today some very good showings at most of these properties. The Copper Mountain is getting its ore from the 2S0-foot level. Here Mr. McLease reports the vein 8 to 10 feet wide. Two distinct ore shoots are under development in this vein. The ore for shipments averages near 5 per cent copper. Chutes and gates in the stoping operations will be completed this week and increased shipments will then be due. At the Beaver Copper, drifting is going on on the 200 level and sinking sink-ing is now under way. It is proposed pro-posed to go down to the 400 level. Some sulphides are coming in. They are found all through the rock. Miners this week brought to neighboring neigh-boring camps samples of the extremely ex-tremely high-grade silver ore. It comes in in bunches. The San Pedro has just opened up what appears like an outcrop that may develop into pay ore. This is about 1000 feet from the shaft of the Copper Ranch. A shallow hold was sunk in the.vein and values were found close to the surface. The Copper Cop-per Ranch adjoins the Milford Copper Cop-per on the west. It is understood that the Dippie will sink a deep shaft. It is using equipment from the Beaver Lake Metals which is not now active. It is reported that Montreal people are investigating the Utah United with a view to taking it over. |
