Show MINERSVILLE NOTES "' At the regular meeting of the Home and School Association held last week, E. N. Larsen of the high school faculty was the chief speaker. The immediate problems of securing greater co-operation - between the parents and school were discussed. Suggestions were also made to add to the interest and vitality of the meetings. The basket ball game with the Milford high school last Friday night was attended by quite a crowd of Minersville people. Members of the faculty who attended were the Misses Axtens, Bracken and Yeomans, Coach E. N. Larsen, I. D. Stewart, W. A. Joseph and Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Griffiths. In the last membership drive the Minersville Red Cross Auxiliary has more than doubled its membership. Fifty-seven new members have just been added to the organization. i Members of the choir gave a sur- prise party last week at the regular ' practice, for the l;;ader, Reese Grit-i, Grit-i, fiths. Members of the local faculty were the guests last Saturday evening ot Miss 'Joyce Kling and W. A.. Joseph at the latter's home. After an evening even-ing of stories and games the guests were served with fruit salad, sandwiches, sand-wiches, wafers and ice cream. The local Red Cross Auxiliary was in charge of the Sacrament Service last Sunday afternoon, in accordance accord-ance with the general request of President Wilson that it be observed as Red Cross Sunday. The entire service was arranged to reflect the patriotic character of the occasion, with national songs sung by the congregation, con-gregation, and "The Sword of Bunker Bun-ker Hill" sung by Frank Williams. The speakers of the afternoon were E. N. Larsen and Miss Frances Yeomans. |
