Show School IRotes FIRST GRADE We are putting a border on the playhouse. Frank Jones. The girls put curtains up in the playhouse. Lillian Hendrickson. We washed and ironed our baby clothes. Mar Jean Heslington. SECOND GRADE We have made a pueblo on the sand table. We have a stream in the sand table too. There are mountains behind them. The pueblo is made ,of boxes covered with clay. ". There will be people on the sand table. We have animals made. It is a very good sand table. Mr. Anderson came to tell us about the Indians. He told us about the Navajo Indians. He said that the men did not work much. The men did the hunting. The women wove the rugs, chopped tiie wood, cooked the meals and herded the sheep. Their houses are called houans. They are made of posts covered with willows, clay and dirt. They are round like Eskimo houses. When anyone is sick the medicine man comes. He sings to keep the bad spirits away. This is what he sings, " Whooeec-hees." He told us many interesting things. We enjoyed it very much. THIRD GRADE We are just about finished with air travel. Mrs. Shannon came up and told us about her experience experi-ence as an air stewardess. She brought her scrap book and two model airplanes up. An air stewardess wears an olive green uniform. Junell Sherwood. We will finish our air travel today. to-day. Monday or Tuesday we will start on water travel. Jack Stahl We took our postoffice down today. to-day. Three boys took it down for us. Bobby Young. Miss Killam read us a story about a little baby bear and a little elephant, too. When she finished she told us they were written by Hamilton Williams. La Rue Randall. FOURTH GRADE Miss Robinson, the Beaver county supervisor, gave a compliment compli-ment on a book we made. She wants us to make a copy and send it to Miss Brockbank, the state supervisor. We are very happy about it. Anna Christensen. We wrote a letter to Los Angeles, California. We got an answer Friday. It told us when the railroad was built to Milford and when the railroad was finished finish-ed to California. Durant Bingham. Bing-ham. We made a big book about the Horn Silver mine. Miss Robinson, the Beaver county supervisor, told us that it was the only book a grade had made up that has a dedication and an introduction. She said for us to typewrite a copy and to send it to the state supervisor. We are very proud about it. Lane Frazier. j FIFTH GRADE We have been studying about how we got all of the United States. We know how we got the Louisiana territory, the Texas territory and the Florida territory. terri-tory. We are now on the Oregon i ; territory. We have our different j committees working hard and we hope to be through soon. Paul Moody. Friday the band played at the : first leaque basketball game at j Milford. The band planned to march through the town and play I to help advertise the game and stir up some pep but the snow-: snow-: storm prevented us doing it. We were disappointed. Bill Kelly.
