Show ! Mrs. H. D.Pitts Is Pneumonia Victim Milford commuunity life was saddened immeasurably Saturday by the death here of Mrs. Homer D. Pitts of Salt Lake, only daughter daugh-ter of Mr. and Mrs. S. 0. Russy of Milford and well known to local people f x-om frequent visits here with the family. Death was due to double lobar pneumonia and an especially sad feature was the fact that her mother was in the local hospital with her, seriously ill with the same disease, as death came to the daughter, while Mr. Russey, his heart known to be bad, also gave cause for grave concern by friends. The body was taken in charge by Harry Ward of the Ward Funeral Fun-eral home and taken to Salt Lake, where it was being held at the Kingdon-Lees mortuary pending completion of interment arrangements. arrange-ments. With Mrs. Russey still not able to make the trip to Salt Lake, it was finally decided to hold formal for-mal services Thursday of this week at the mortuary, with final interment deferred until the first of the week, by which time it is thought Mrs. Russey will be able to make the trip. The Reverend Elmer I. Goshen, well known Con-gregationalist Con-gregationalist minister, will have charge of the funeral services. Florence Louise Russey Pitts was born March 29, 1910, at Lima, Montana, small railroad town on the Oregon Short Line, where Mr. Russey was employed at the time. The family moved to Salt Lake shortly thereafter and it was here that Mrs. Pitts received her education, graduating from the West high school. She took a prominent part in school activities and als attained quite a reputation reputa-tion as a radio singer. She is survived sur-vived by her husband, a supervisor for the Shell Oil company in Salt Lake; to sons, Gary, 5, and Kim, 3; also her parents, Mr. and Mrs. S. O. Russey of Milford, and four brothers, Thurman and , Kenneth of Salt Lake and Ralph and Harry of Milford. , Mr. Russey came to Milfora first in 1925 but did not move his family here until 1933 but even during this comparatively short period of time, they have made a host of friends and admirers of the close family ties now sadly disrupted by the passing of the only daughter. |
