Thomas Hanney of Frisco is home from the U. of U. for the holidays. Rob Martin is home for the Christmas holidays from his studies stu-dies ;il .1 Dixie college in St. George. Miss Lorraine Gray came home Wednesday from her school work at the Wasntch academy in Mt. Pleasant. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd F. Kohler and daughter Madelyn motored to Salt Lake City Wednesday for a few days visit. William Tribole, who is attending attend-ing college in Ovford, Ohio, came home Tuesday morning for the Christmas holidays. Hael Tribode is up from Long-Beach, Long-Beach, California, where she has been attending- school; to spend the holidays with home folks. Mrs. E. C. Romic and small son Eddie of Caliente are visiting- at the home of Mn. Romick's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. John KLllam. Mr. ami Mrs. Ken Weston are rejoicing- over the arrival of a fine baby iboy, born to them December 14, in the Cedar City hospital. The annual Christmas dinner and dance of the Venus and Adonis club was given Tuesday night, with dinner served at the Union Pacific dining room and dancing in the I. O. 0. F. hall. Word was received by local relatives rela-tives of the arrival of a fine baby girl, born December 20 to Lieutenant Lieu-tenant and Mrs. Harry F. Hamilton Hamil-ton at Ely, Nevada. Mrs. Hamilton Hamil-ton is the former Miss Mildred Killam. Mrs. Charlotte Smyth has returned re-turned home from Long Beach, California, after spending several weeks there. She left Monday morning for Beaver, where she will resume her duties at the Low hotel. Word was received Saturday by Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kirk of the arrival ar-rival of a fine baby girl, born December De-cember 16, to Mr. and Mrs. Bryant Roberts of Van Nuys, California. Mrs. Roberts will be remembered as Miss Maxine Kirk. Mr. and Mrs. .0. C. Koch motored motor-ed to Richfield Sunday and visited with their daughter, Mrs. Lucile Hansen. They were accompanied to the Sevier metropolis by Misses Ro.zetta and Freda Koch, who remained re-mained there for a longer visit, returning re-turning home Tuesday night. Mrs. Claud Horton entertained a number of girl friends at a Christmas party at her home Monday Mon-day night. Games were played and those enjoying the evening were Ranae Fernley, Marie Carlson, Carl-son, Phyllis Whitbeck, Rosalie Koch and Salma Johnson. Miss Marie Gillies, Miss Virginia Baxter and Miss Katherine Kirk, who are students at the U. of U. are home for the holidays. Miss Sarah Cuddy, who is attending school at the college of St. Marys-pf-the-Wasatch in Salt Lake, is also home for the holidays. Miss Gladys Martin was hostess to the Giggle club last Thursday evening. The evening was spent in sewing and exchanging Christ- mas presents. Those present were Marie Johnson, Verle Horton, Sarah Pou!, Selma John-on, Ranae Fernley, Marie Carlson and Rosalie Rosa-lie Koch. L. G. Clay motored to Logan last week to bring his son John, and other students from Milford who are attending the U. S. A. C, home for -.he Christmas vacation. Those coming with Mr. Clay were Bob and Gordon Murdock, Miss Doris Hughes and Mitchell Fisher. Ray and Hal Fisher, also students at the L. S. A. C, came home on the train Friday. Mr. and Mrs. J. N. Stephens of Preston, Idaho, and Mrs. Martha, Stephens and Mr. and Mrs. Hart-viegson Hart-viegson of Logan were guests at the J. M. Hughes home over Wednesday. Wed-nesday. Mr. Stephens and Mrs. Martha Stephens are brother and mother of Mrs. Hughes. They were enroute to Las Vegas and southern - California to spend the coming holidays. Miss Leah Richards entertained her bridge club with a Christmas party at her home Tuesday night. Bridge was enjoyed1 with Mrs. Ross Palmer receiving high points prize, Mrs. Faye Bradfield high honors prize and Mrs. Ralph Cook consolation prize. Others present were Mrs. A. A. Mclntyre, Mrs. Ray Mills, Mrs. Earl Stonehocker and Mrs. Clarence Grimshaw. Miss Beatrice Jensen of Los Angeles and Elmer Snell of Eureka were married Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Karl Hanney at Frisco, A. L. Allen of Provo performing the ceremonp. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Christopherson, formerly of EureWa. The ceremony cere-mony was followed hy a wedding supper served at the Hanney home. A delightful tea was given Monday Mon-day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Harold Cline, honoring Mrs. B. T. Walker, who leaves soon with her family to make their home in Laramie, Wyoming. Those attending attend-ing were memlbers of the Tuesday Tues-day night bridge club of which Mrs. Walker is one. She was presented pre-sented with a lovely gift by those present who were Mrs. R. C. Ache-son, Ache-son, Mrs. K. B. Coon, Mrs. A. B. Gilliam, Mrs. W. M. Post and Mrs. Thomas Gerrard. Mr. and Mrs. Foyer Olsen and their three young sons are cozily domiciled in one of the cottages at the Desert Range Experiment station, sta-tion, west of Milford, where Mr Olsen will have charge of winter activities of that branch of inter-mountain inter-mountain range and forest experimental experi-mental setup. Mr. Olsen, a native of Castle Dale, was in Milford for a few months in 1934, when wort at the station was first getting underway, but has been located at Bountiful for the last two years. The Wednesday night bridge cluib members and husbands were entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Smith Tuesday . night. A covered dish dinner was enjoyed, after which bridge was played. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Val Yepsen, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Cline, Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, Mr. and Mrs. J. R,. Murdock jr., Mr. and Mrs. D. S. Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kirk, Mrs. J. A. Weston and Ken Weston. At bridge Mrs. Murdock and Mr. Cline received the high sccre prizes and Mrs. Williams and Mr. Murdock the consolation prizes. Mrs. Ross Palmer was hostess to her sewing club members and their husbands at a Christmas party Monday night. A hot dinner was served to the following: Ross Palmer, Pal-mer, Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Edwards, Ed-wards, Mr. and Mrs. Frank White, Mr. and Mrs. Roy White jr., Mr. and Mrs. Lavar Voorhees, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Ferguson, Mr. and Mrs. William Ashworth, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Atkin, Mr. and Mrs. Marion Vincent and Mr. and Mrs. Willis Whitbeck. Games were played during the evening with an exchange of presents among the guests.. |
