Show TRilforo Wipb School During the last two weeks many fine projects in wood- and leather-work leather-work have been turned out from our shop department. These useful use-ful articles will prove of fine value for home and personal use, many of these were made especially especial-ly as gifts for Christmas. Miss Fernley's English students continue to produce many 'beautiful 'beauti-ful English booklets as their project pro-ject work from their new English texts. The new texts reveal "Life's Experiences". The domestic art and high school art students are finishing many lovely Christmas presents fr home folks. The Milford boys showed up well under the fire of the Dixie flyers. If Coach Kotter's boys continue to improve as they have been doing the past two or three weeks, the cellar position of Milford high school will be eliminated this year and some other group will have to take that position. So, come on, boys, keep your spirit of progress going for the old town and school! Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. the school opera, "Magazine Princess" Prin-cess" was presented to the grade school students to be followed Wednesday night with a performance perform-ance for the general public. They, all seemed to enjoy the performance, perfor-mance, and the music department is to be congratulated on their worthy efforts in presenting this special musical for tl e public. The students and teachers alike extend season's greetings to the people of the community, with a deep feeling of . appreciation for all the help that has been given in the past. Our principal, Mr. Moody, spent last Thursday and Friday with a group of educators, making a careful care-ful study and survey of typical Utah high school conditions as compared with those of the rest of the United States. It is planned that, many other surveys will continue con-tinue in our state toward assisting (Continued on Isst page) o- High School Notes (Continued from first page) in developing a better program of efficiency in our secondary educational edu-cational field. Bricklaying is to begin soon on our gymnasium and the students are thrilled day by day to see this fine structure move forward, closer clos-er to completion. The high school students have already indicated that they would buy year books so it means that the year book project will continue to progress under the leadership of staff members, assisted by Miss Fernley and Mr. Yack as advisers. For the past week tryouts have been sponsored for our annual school play, "New Fires". This play is to be under the direction of Mr. Blackstock, our dramatic teacher. Rehearsals will take place during the holiday season and the play will be presented soon after our return to school. Thursday afjternoon, Dec-ember 22, a Christmas social is being given for the high school. Games and dancing wili be enjoyed by all, and refreshments served. The true Christmas spirit will be celebrated cele-brated by all. The boys have sponsored a He-Man's He-Man's clulb, popularly known as the "Bull Dog Club" because of the style of hair cut specified as one of the membership requirements. require-ments. The club held their first official meeting December 19. They elected the following officers: offi-cers: President, How Limib; vice president, Dale Cook; secretary and treasurer, Bud James. The club's aim is to provide social and material benefits for its members, and instill a sense of cooperation and obligation toward their high school that will tend to make life and activities more enjoyable. Thursday, December 22, the Seniors will sponsor their Christmas Christ-mas ball. This is a new special event in our school, and all are enthused over its approach. We hope that the townspeople will attend at-tend this Christmas ball and help make it a great success. There will be a few hours of cooperative merriment, dancing and real Christmas enjoyment. |
