Show Only Dickens Statne A statue of Charles Dickens and little Nell, one of his famous characters, char-acters, is in Clark park, at Forty-third Forty-third street and Baltimore avenue, in West Philadelphia. It is the only one ever made of the novelist says a writer in the Philadelphia Inquirer, Inquir-er, because his son discovered a clause in his will asking "never on any account to make me the subject sub-ject of any monument memorial or testimonial whatever." The work is by F. Edwin Elwell. It was exhibited exhibit-ed at tiie World's Columbian exposition, exposi-tion, where it received a gold medal. |
