Show Milford Girl Recognized In Extension Service Eight Utah women have been appointed as emergency war food preservation assistants on the staff of the Utah State Agricultural Agricul-tural college extension service. Director W. W. Owens and Assistant Assist-ant Director Myrtle Davidson announced Tuesday; the number including Miss Doris Hughes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Hughes of Milford. Others named are: Julia Finlinson, Oak City; Bernice Palfreyman, Springville; Melba Vickers, Nephi; Blanche H. Sorenson, Mancos, Colorado; Jessie Jes-sie Mecham, Nephi; Ruth Mc-Conkie, Mc-Conkie, Moab, and Fay Carol Crawford, Moore. Washington and Kane counties will be the field of work for Miss Hughes. She is a Utah State graduate of 1942 and achieved a superior scholastic record, receiving receiv-ing a membership in Phi Kappa Phi, honorary fraternity. In addition, ad-dition, she served four years as a member of a 4-H club and was a leader for two. She now is teach-ihg teach-ihg school at Gunnison. |
