Show CHRISTIMSCIENCE "Spirit" is the subject of the lesson-sermon to be read in First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Mil-ford Mil-ford on Sunday, August 12. The Golden text is: "This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts" (Zechariah 4:6). Among the citations from the Bible comprised in the lesson-sermon is the following: "Yet now be strong, 0 Zerubbabel, saith the Lord; and be strong, 0 Joshua, son of Josedach, the high priest; and be strong, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord, and work: for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts" (Haggai 2:4). Included in the lesson-sermon is the following correlative passage from the Christian Science textbook "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mar-y Baker Eddy: "In Science, you can have no power opposed to God, and the physical senses must give up their false testimony. testi-mony. Your influence for good depends de-pends upon the weight you throw into in-to the right scale. The good you do and embody gves you the only power obtainable" (p. 192). o |
