Show PRACTICE GAME IS WON BY HIGH SCHOOL Though out of practice and out of condition the Western Electric Telephone Tele-phone employees hastily organized a basketball team to give the Milford High School aggregation a practice game Tuesday night in the High School gymnasium and cheerfully took a thorough beating from the local loc-al high five who ran up a score of sixty to three against them. Horton, Hickman, Easton and Andrews An-drews were the men sent in by Mel-bome Mel-bome Heslington, high school coach, as his starting lineup. Later in the game Skinner, Griffith and Kirk substituted. sub-stituted. Men representing the Western Electric were: Ish, Pugh, Smith, Morgan Mor-gan and Jones. Norhees substituted and made the three points scored by the town men. From the first minute of play the high school team showed considerable speed and teamwork. Their accuracy in receiving passes and in shooting baskets speaks well for the coaching and practicing they have had the past few weeks and the team as a whole looks promising. Whether they would show up so well under stiffer competition, competi-tion, however, is yet to be demonstrated. demonstrat-ed. The Western Electric Men showed individual talent but suffered as a team through inaccuracy because of lack of practice. However, the material ma-terial is there and a little individual as well as team practice could produce a credible town team. |
