Show TWO MEETINGS HELD BY COMMISSIONERS ON COUNTY MATTERS On Friday, December 5, the County Coun-ty Commissioners held their regular monthly session, allowing bills and transacting other routine business. Road matters and indigents allowances al-lowances were discussed.- The salary sal-ary of janitor at the court house was reduced from S40 to S25 per month. Harold Cline appeared in behalf of the Milford Lions club and ask for an appropriation to assist in feeding the transcients in the town of Milford. Mil-ford. The commissioners expressed a willingness to cooperate with the Milford Lions and other organizations, organiza-tions, if help was needed, but no official of-ficial action was taken on the matter. The question of employing a county coun-ty inspector of meats, fruits and other oth-er perishable commodities offered for sale in the county, was discussed by I the Commissioners. This matter had been presented to the commissioners several months ago by the Beaver and Milford Lions clubs. Dr. Parker, resident veterinarian offered his services ser-vices to the commissioners at a salary sal-ary of $150 per month. The commissioners com-missioners were favorable to the proposition pro-position providing that the city of Beaver would pay one-third of the salary, the town of Milford one-third and the county would be willing to pay its part. The plan will probably be presented to the city officials of Beaver and Myford. On Monday the commissioners met again for the purpose of completing the county budget for the coming year. They also entertained a delegation dele-gation from the Beaver Lions club relative to starting work on cutting cut-ting down of the North Creek hill on the state highway north of town. The appropriation for this work having hav-ing been made by the state and county, coun-ty, the Lions club urged that wouc be started immediately in order to furnish employment to local men now unemployed. The commissioners, commission-ers, however, contended that the work could not progress satisfactory at this time of year, and no action was taken. |
