Show GET TOGETHER PARTY SET FOR FRIDAY NIGHT BY LIONS AND FARMERS With ten gallons of salad on its way to Minersville to be eaten by the Lions, their ladies, the Escalante Valley Val-ley Dairymen and Farmers Association Associa-tion and friends of the organization, there is every indication that the get together party to be held at the Minersville Min-ersville High School Friday night will be a gastronomic as well as a social success. The party sponsored by the Lions and the Escalante Association is intended in-tended to arouse enthusiasm for and promote membership -in the latter organization or-ganization which came into being last week. It is a protective association to promote co-operative buying and selling, foster cow-testing and incite action for the benefit of the dairymen and stockmen of the valley. All Invited Friday night's party will be open to anyone who is interested in the organization or-ganization and there will be dancing, a plate supper and a program as well as the membership drive. In order that no one who would like to attend should be disappointed transportation is being provided and anyone wishing to attend the affair and lacking a car can be assured of getting to Minersville Miners-ville by applying to R. E. Ellings-woth Ellings-woth who is in charge of poviding transportation for the guests. It is the hope of the sponsors to attract all of the stockmen and dairymen dairy-men of the valley to the party so that none of the individuals who would be benefited by affiliating with the organization or-ganization will miss an opportunity of learning its advantages and becoming t. member. Benefit to Local Dealers Dr. C. R. Parrish, one of the originators origin-ators of the association, points out that the organization is not only a benefit to the stockmen and dairymen but to the local business men as well for the members are pledged to trade with home dealers of supplies and im-pliments. im-pliments. This plan will benefit the members also because by co-opeative buying in quantities better arrangement arrange-ment can be made regarding service and replacement. It is , only one Of the details of the many plans for mutual mu-tual benefit being made by the organization, organi-zation, according to Dr. Parrish, who states that the advantages of co-operation in buying and selling, have been demonstrated too frequently in other organizaztions to need much explaining ex-plaining in this case. The social side of the party at Minersville Min-ersville is to be stressed as much as the membership drive, however, and an excellent dance, dinner and program pro-gram are being provided under the direction of the entertainment committee: com-mittee: R. E. Ellingsworth, Lester William's, Clinton Thompson and Ed Murdock. Dancing will begin at 8:30 o'clock. o |
