Show SOCIETY Jolly Stitchers Club Mrs. Fred Levi entertained the Jolly Stitchers. Club at her home Aug. 24. The afternoon was spent in sewing sew-ing and a delicious lunch was served to, Mesdames. W. A. Miller, James Lang, Antone Johnson, Scott Tanner, Karl Levi and A. C. Nebeker. ; S- F. Club The S. F. Club met at the home of Mrs. W. E. Fernley Thursday. Bridge was played,' Mrs. Copeland winning the prize for points, Mrs. Johnson for honors and Mrs. Sloan, guest prize. Refreshments were serv ed to" Mrs. R. M. Copeland, Mrs. Aaron Smith. Mrs. Fred Levi, Mrs. Antone Johnson and Mrs. S. C Ruschmeier. The invited guests 'were Mesdames C C. Sloan and A. C. Nebeker. Dance Tuesday A fairly larjrre crowd attended the dance given by the Athletic club Tuesday evening-. The Arion Hall was comfortably crowded with dancers. danc-ers. The Union Pacific orchestra of Los Angeles, consisting of eight musicians, mu-sicians, supplied the music which was conceded to be excellent. Dancing continued until a very late hour. Mrs. Fernley Hostess Mrs. W. E. Fernley entertained the 1 Saturday-Bridge Club-at her home Saturday, August 25. Mrs. Jack Thiessen and Mrs- Rue Neilson were winners in the card play with a guest ' prize going to Mrs. Antone Johnson. Refreshments were served to Mes-"dames Mes-"dames C. E. 'Moore, C. C. Sloan, J. M. Williams, P. J- Evans, Rue Neilson "and jack Thiessen. Guests were Mrs. Free! Levi and Mrs. Antone Johnson. Double Anniversary Mrs. Clarence Lewis and Mrs. Roy ' Cottrell were hostesses at the Lewis ,home last Thursday at 6 P. M., the occasion being the birthday nmiiver-. nmiiver-. saries of . M. F. Lewis, father of Clarence Lewis, and W. F. Cottrell, father of Roy Cottrell. A two-course 'dinner was served. The center-piece was of lavender and white centurias and this color scheme was carried out in the decoration decora-tion of two large birthday cakes. The guests of honor received useful and appropriate gifts as well as the best wishes for many happy returns of the day. - Mr; Lewis left that evening even-ing for his home in Roseville, California. Cali-fornia. Those present on the enjoyable occasion .were Mr. and Mrs. Roy Cot-' Cot-' trell and little son, Ross, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cottrell, Mr. M. F. Lewis and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Lewis. Entertain for Sister JUrs. Jack Thiessen and Mrs. Kim-mel Kim-mel Coon entertained at the hitter's home last Thursday in honor of their sister, Mrs. Williams. The afternoon was spent in playing bridge after which a delightful luncheon was served. serv-ed. Mrs. Alvin Baker won the prize for high honors and Mrs. Spencer Schow, the prize for points. Those present were Mesdames F. Farmer, Spencer Schow, Alvin Baker, Win. Broyles, Gene Kirk, Al Kirk, La Marr Outzen, L. E. Chilton, S. C. Ruschmeier, Jack Thiessen, Kimmel Coon, Miss Rolinette and the guest of honor, Mrs. Williams. |
