Show Why Some Shop Clerks Have Bad Dispositions It happened in the hat shop in the East 50s. A young woman whose dress was distinguished by her Hat heels and tailor-made jacket was having hav-ing a hard time selecting a hat, and was still dissatisfied after the exasperated exas-perated clerk had brought out the entire en-tire stock. An acquaintance of mine, who was also trying on bats, heard her say : "I want a hat that's mannish." "Yes, miss; how about this one?" the attendant replied, bringing out the last of the assortment. "Not mannish enough." "But, miss," the oilier sighed wearily, "it's a man's hat." New York Sun. |
