Show LAD ACTS QUICKLY SAVING PROPERTY FROM FIRE DAMAGE Quick action on the part of a nine year old boy saved the automobile and possibly the residence of Gene Kirk from being destroyed by fire last Thursday afternoon. A blaze started in the Kirk automobile auto-mobile when gasoline ignited while Mrs. Kirk was making an effort to start the engine about four o'clock Thursday afternoon. Her son, Douglas, Doug-las, was in the car with her when the fire started and while Mrs. Kirk went in the house to phone for the fire department, de-partment, Douglas extinguished the fire. As the car was standing in the garage gar-age of the Kir kresidence when the fire occurred, considerable damage was averted by the boys action. The Milford Volunteer fire department depart-ment was on the scent of the accident almost as soon as the alarm was reported re-ported but found the fire extinquished. Volunteers responding to the alarm were: Thorold White, O. R. Holt, Eugene Singleton, Max Root, Roy White, Jr., Roy Carlson, Mark Wad-doups, Wad-doups, Kenneth Hollis, Myles White, Lewis Davis, Wallace Patterson, Almy Hollis, Theo Fotheringham, Frank White, Alfred Johansen, Tom Schow and Thomas James. |
